2018 Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF)

Michigan’s Skilled Trades Training Funds (STTF) provides competitive awards to employers for training leading to increased employee productivity and increased competitiveness of Michigan businesses.  The grant process is competitive and funds are allocated quickly, so a complete and accurate application is critical.  GST Michigan Works! is offering four STTF Information Sessions across the region! For more information about the STTF, review the Program OverviewFact Sheet, and Frequently Asked Questions.

Please note the following correction & clarification regarding the recorded STTF Orientation.

  1. Veterans:  To receive an extra $500 for veterans as part of the targeted populations the veteran can only be a NEW HIRE.  Incumbent worker veterans are not considered new hires therefore are not eligible for the $500 bonus.
  2. ESL is only for present workers who need to learn English to better understand working on the job.  It is mistakenly stated in the recorded orientation that companies could train individuals in Spanish, etc.  That was in error.

All Information Sessions have taken place, please Call (810) 233-5974 Ext. 352 to talk to a Business Solutions Professional about how to apply.  For more information about the Skilled Trades Training Fund visit www.michigan.gov/sttf
