Sanilac – While Ametek prefers to hire experienced workers when possible, the current labor market has created more opportunity for the company to consider less experienced applicants. Though Amber Glaza had no manufacturing background, she decided to take a chance and apply to Ametek for the position of electro-mechanical assembler. Amber impressed Ametek during her interview, and the company was interested in giving her an opportunity. Amber was eligible for On-The-Job Training (OJT), and GSTMW! was able to step in to help create a training plan to help Ametek train Amber for her new position. Amber Glaza successfully completed 360 hours of On-The-Job Training and has retained her position with Ametech.
