Flint – Shannan Thomas came to GSTMW! yearning for a career. Shannan met with her Career Coach and discussed how she had researched the trucking industry for months by looking at training facilities, wages and networking with Employers. Together they wrote out her goal plan and decided CDL-A training at 160 Driving Academy in Flint would be a great first step in having a long-lasting career.

Shannan started CDL-A training on May 28, 2019. In order to maintain her employment while in training, the school accommodated her schedule by allowing her to take evening classes. She was extremely driven, emailing her Career Coach weekly during her CDL-A training with updates on her progress. Shannan successfully completed training on July 1, 2019, received a letter of recommendation from 160 Driving Academy, and was offered employment within a week. Due to her ambition, Shannan began working as a CDL-A Driver for Matrix Expedited Service within a week as well. She received supportive services to help her get off to a solid start in her new career.
