GST Michigan Works! is putting in the work, to help Flint get back to work

GST MI Works! is hosting a “Multi-Employer Job Fair” to help Flint residents get back to work.

FLINT, MI. (07/12/2021) – The “Coronavirus Disease Statistics” for new cases in Flint, reported by the New York Times, shows 56 new coronavirus cases between June 28, 2021, and July 11, 2021. That is a significant improvement from last year, when the cases were much higher at 208, from June 28, 2020, through July 11, 2020.

It has been suggested that some people are not willing to rejoin the workforce due to fear of catching the coronavirus or becoming asymptomatic and infecting others. With more and more people getting vaccinated and fewer cases emerging, it is time to get back to work!

GST MI Works is hosting a Multi-Employer Job Fair today, July 13, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The address is 711 N. Saginaw St., Flint, MI. They are asking job seekers to arrive at noon to have their resumes reviewed and to prepare them for on-the-spot interviews. “Employers are willing to speak with job seekers on the spot,” said GST MI Works! Business Services Manager Ty Krauss. “Employers want to hire and put people to work as soon as possible.

Job seekers are encouraged to attend this job fair and take advantage of the opportunities that are being offered. Career coaches are ready to help with resume building and mock interviews. They have resources and funding to help alleviate barriers.
