GST MI Works! Is Teaming Up with The School That Works

An alternative way of acquiring a high school diploma is here!

Flint, Michigan – The School That Works is a high school diploma program that prepares students to pursue meaningful careers through a blending of character formation, life skills, and work experiences. It’s a unique school offered through the Fenton Area Public Schools District; for students between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one.

Youth living in Genesee County are welcome to enroll. Enrollment has begun, classes begin September 20th, and open enrollment ends October 4th.
Students will be able to take advantage of the following:

  • Guidance from a GST MI Works! Career Counselor
  • Funding to support post-secondary education
  • Resources to mitigate barriers
  • Free public-school program
  • High school classes are online and self-paced
  • Apprenticeship readiness program
  • Assistance with landing a job (getting paid on average $17 per hour)
  • A workplace readiness program that works and more
