GST Michigan Works! Is Empowering Young Adults To Make Informed Decisions About Their Talent
MiCareerQuest™ East: Inspiring Students through Career Exploration in Multiple Fields
Flint, MI – GST MI Works, in partnership with Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity and Mott Community College, are hosting the second edition of MiCareerQuest™ East, a two-day career exploration event that will provide students from over 35 schools with invaluable insights and opportunities across four diverse quadrants of careers.
MiCareerQuest™ East offers an interactive and engaging platform for over 1,500 students to explore occupations in the fields of health sciences, advanced manufacturing, construction, and in-demand careers. With a focus on highlighting the breadth of opportunities available, the event aims to inspire students to consider various career paths and foster their passion for learning and professional growth.
Within the different occupation quadrants, students will have the opportunity to interact with professionals from careers ranging from Nursing, Bricklaying, Law Enforcement, Cybersecurity, and Welding, just to name a few. The young adults will be given the opportunity to gain insights into the required skills, education, and real-world experiences necessary for success.
In addition to the two day MiCareerQuest™ East event, GST MI Works will also be hosting a job fair with over 50 employers on May 24th from 1 – 5 pm. Job seekers will be able to stop to learn more about the opportunities available with the participating employers.
“We are delighted to host MiCareerQuest™ East for the second time, providing students with an immersive and informative experience to broaden their horizons and ignite their curiosity about potential career paths,” said Jody Kerbyson, CEO of GST Michigan Works! “By showcasing careers across multiple quadrants, we aim to expose students to diverse possibilities and empower them to make informed decisions about their future.”
MiCareerQuest™ East will serve as a catalyst for students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world careers. By connecting with professionals, participating in hands-on activities, and gaining industry insights, students are able to make meaningful connections between their education and future aspirations.
GST MI Works is expected to have over 1,500 students throughout Mid-Michigan and the Thumb Area in attendance at this two-day unique career exploration experience. For more information about this year’s event, contact Jessica Billiau at jbilliau@gstmiworks.org.
