A Great Future in Nursing

Lapeer County – Megan was a single parent who was working her way through school when she heard about GST Michigan Works! in Lapeer from a classmate. Finding out that there was an opportunity for financial assistance was a game-changer for Megan. At that time, she was working part-time, while attending school full-time. She was struggling with the cost of tuition and books; fearing that she may have to drop out due to the financial burden. 

After receiving assistance from GST Michigan Works! Megan graduated from Mott Community College with high honors earning her Associate Degree in Nursing. After completing her clinicals at McLaren Flint, she was offered a full-time position. She now earns a great wage and benefits with a career that she loves! Megan shared, “GST Michigan Works! was so helpful in paying for books and tuition. Without their assistance, I would not have been able to get through school.”
