Building a Future in Welding

Daiton always knew he wanted more for his future. While working at Arby’s, he took the initiative to visit GST Michigan Works! in March 2024 to explore training programs that could help him grow. With the support of the Talent Development Center, he was connected with a Career Coach, Rosie, who guided him through enrollment in the Adult WIOA Program and Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG), setting the foundation for his next steps.

With Rosie’s guidance, Daiton gained access to valuable resources through these programs, including supportive services that covered the cost of his welding class and the boots required for his training. Determined to advance his career, he pursued his education at Mott Workforce Development, where he successfully earned his Welding Certificate.

Now, as he prepares to walk in the Mott Community College Graduation Ceremony, his journey stands as a testament to perseverance and the power of support. Throughout this journey, Daiton has remained employed at Arby’s, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to personal growth. Not stopping there, he has chosen to continue his education with advanced welding courses at Mott Community College, further refining his skills and expanding his career opportunities.

Through it all, his Career Coach has been a guiding force, providing mentorship, encouragement, and career navigation support to keep him on the path to success.

Daiton’s story is a shining example of how determination, support, and education can open doors to a brighter future. His journey proves that with the right resources and a strong work ethic, anything is possible!
