Madison connected with GST Michigan Works! for assistance with purchasing a vehicle through the Talent Growth & Barrier Removal Initiative.  Madison was in a rough spot in life and had been without a vehicle for almost a year.  She was stressed out, depressed, and completely exhausted! She was having difficulty getting to appointments and was unable to visit her family, who lived an hour away. She was working two jobs, trying to save up for a vehicle. Madison walked in the snow and cold this winter to get to work. Madison realized that a vehicle was a necessity to get to work and provide stability in her life. Unfortunately, life was not going the way she had hoped or planned.  Madison had more going on, which stopped her from purchasing a vehicle. She worked as much as possible but couldn’t get ahead. Someone suggested Madison should contact GST Michigan Works! for assistance. 

GST Michigan Works! was able to assist Madison with purchasing a vehicle, removing one of the biggest barriers she faced in maintaining steady employment. With reliable transportation, she can consistently and independently drive herself to work.

Since receiving this support, Madison has been taking important steps toward building a brighter future. She is currently working toward earning her GED. In addition, she has set her sights on entering the healthcare field and plans to obtain her CNA license to begin a career helping others.

Madison has also begun thinking about her long-term goals. While her immediate focus is finishing her GED and becoming a CNA, she hopes this path may eventually lead to her attending college. With determination, hard work, and the support she has received, Madison is creating new opportunities for herself and moving forward with confidence toward a stable and successful future.
