Beginning her healthcare career in entry-level direct care roles, Gabrielle steadily advanced her skills and responsibilities through hard work, determination, and a commitment to serving others. She progressed to a Sterile Processing Technician role, gaining valuable technical expertise while supporting patient safety and surgical care. Motivated to continue growing professionally, she enrolled in a rigorous one-year Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

Throughout her training, GST Michigan Works! helped remove financial barriers by providing tuition assistance and mileage support. As graduation approached, Gabrielle faced one final challenge: the remaining tuition balance needed to complete the program. To ensure she could graduate on time, she decided to forgo her remaining mileage assistance and instead apply those funds toward her final tuition bill. That support allowed her to complete the program and earn her LPN credential.

Earning her LPN credential has been transformational, nearly tripling her income, expanding her career opportunities, and positioning her for continued personal and professional growth. She now works at a local healthcare facility, allowing her to advance her career while remaining close to her family and readily available to support both her loved ones and the community she serves.
