Angelina came to GST Michigan Works! seeking assistance in obtaining her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential. At the time, she was working as a caregiver, but her employer was being sold to a new corporation. Without a CNA license, she would not be able to continue in her role. Determined to remain in the healthcare field and continue helping others, Angelina took the next step toward advancing her career.

Already pursuing a nursing degree, Angelina viewed earning her CNA credential as an opportunity to strengthen both her experience and knowledge while continuing her education. She completed her training through Sokol Healthcare Training and felt the training was good and prepared her for a new position as a CNA.

Angelina’s hard work and dedication quickly paid off. After earning her credential, she was hired by a local Medical Care Facility, where she is now earning nearly $9 more per hour than when we first met. She is thriving in her new role and is proud of what she accomplished by earning her credential and advancing her career path.

Her instructors also recognized her potential. After Angelina completed training, one of the owners of Sokol Healthcare Training reached out and shared, “Angelina is a very wonderful young lady. It was a pleasure to have her in class, and she should go much further in her career path. She should not stop at being a CNA.”
