From Setback to Success

When William walked through the doors of GST Michigan Works! Tuscola Service Center in December 2025, he was facing a difficult transition. After losing his job, William was searching for more than just employment—he was looking for an opportunity to provide stability and a brighter future for his family of eight.

Throughout his career, William had always enjoyed helping others. Knowing that his strengths were centered around caring for people, he decided to pursue a career where he could make a meaningful difference. His goal was to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and begin a new chapter in healthcare.

GST Michigan Works! Tuscola recognized William’s determination and was proud to stand beside him throughout his journey. Through workforce development support, William received assistance with the costs of his training, work shoes, scrubs, and the encouragement and guidance needed to keep moving forward.

In January 2026, William began his CNA training at Davis Training Institute. With dedication, focus, and a strong commitment to his goals, William completed his training in just two weeks and earned his Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

William’s hard work quickly paid off. Shortly after becoming certified, he accepted a full-time position with Tuscola Medical Care Facility, where he is now building a rewarding career in healthcare while providing greater security for his family through steady employment and benefits.
