Huron & Sanilac County Economic Development
The Huron County Economic Development will strive to develop, maintain and enhance the economic base and quality of life in Huron County. This will be accomplished by marketing the area, assisting businesses to start up or expand, consulting with local governments and organizations on development issues and acting as a catalyst for projects at the local, state and national levels.
We will join you to discuss the grant funding available to assist with starting a new child daycare.

Auntie Em’s Daycare
Auntie Em’s is a very successful daycare center based in Peck. Emily began with a home based center, then quickly advanced to a second location within Peck Community Schools. Auntie Em’s is currently expanding to a third location in Sandusky.
Emily Jones will share her experiences with starting and growing a very successful daycare organization. Her insights will be invaluable to anyone exploring the opportunities of becoming a child daycare provider.

Great Start to Quality, Eastern Resource Center
The Eastern Resource Center team is available to assist child care providers, child care educators, and individuals interested in the field of early childhood education in a variety of ways. We support home based and center based programs as they improve the quality of their program or open a new program. We also support early childhood professionals as they enter the early childhood education field and continue their journey working with young children.
GST Michigan Works!
GST Michigan Works! Apprenticeship Team promotes and raises awareness about apprenticeship programs within the community. The department conducts outreach programs and engages with employers, vocational schools, and unions to emphasize the benefits of apprenticeships. These efforts aim to encourage employers to create apprenticeship opportunities and potential applicants to consider this career path.
