From Overwhelmed to Happiness

Shiawassee County – Kaye came into the GST Michigan Works! Owosso office in October of 2022. She attended an orientation and was overwhelmed and feeling a little defeated. Her position was eliminated at Insight Pain Management, and she was unsure how to get started with a new job search.  

Kaye worked with a Career Coach to address her concerns and barriers, developed a plan of action, and attended the resume workshop so she would be prepared to start her job search.  She then applied for several positions and attended a job fair, but the right one just hadn’t come along.  After the GST Michigan Works! staff became aware that SATA needed a dispatcher, they suggested that Kaye apply.  

Kaye did so and was granted  an interview! She was thrilled when SATA offered her the position, and she began employment with them in December of 2022! Sometimes all it takes is just a little bit of help and confidence boosting. Kaye has worked for SATA for over nine months now, working at least 30 hours a week, and has received a raise!
