Career Focused

Emma is a 2024 graduate of Peck High School. Throughout her teenage years, she held a few part-time jobs in the fast-food industry. After graduating in May of 2024, Emma decided it was time to focus on building a career. She had always been interested in the medical field, but she found her interests centered more on the administrative side.

Being fresh out of high school, Emma needed guidance to make her first adult career move. Although she wanted to attend training at the Sanilac Career Center, the tuition cost was a concern. After speaking with them about her concerns, they suggested that Emma reach out to GST Michigan Works! to inquire about grant funding.

Emma scheduled an appointment with a Career Coach and was able to qualify for WIOA funding. Once she met the eligibility requirements, Emma enrolled in the online Administrative Medical Assistant training. Through hard work and dedication, Emma completed the training and earned her certification in just four months.

Since then, Emma has secured full-time employment as a Medical Administrative Assistant at McKenzie Rural Health Clinic. She is excited to begin her young adult life with the career she has worked hard to achieve.
