Smiling Bright into a New Career

Jordyn visited GST Michigan Works! in search of a new career path. After working part-time as a CNA, she was ready for a change. When she learned that the Sanilac Career Center offered training for Certified Medical Assistants, she knew exactly which direction she wanted to take.

With approval from GST Michigan Works! in Huron County, Jordyn enrolled in the program at the Sanilac Career Center.  She began her training in February 2025, completed the course on May 20, 2025, and passed the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant.

By July 14, 2025, Jordyn had secured full-time employment as a Certified Medical Assistant at Aspire in Bad Axe. She now earns $3 more per hour than in her previous role, is working full-time, and will soon receive medical benefits.

Jordyn is thrilled with her new career – and her smile says it all!
