Investing in the future of Public Safety: Meet the new Superheroes of Sanilac County

 

GST Michigan Works! in Sandusky is proud to celebrate the success of three newly graduated police officers, Carter, Arlen, and Cole, whose journeys into law enforcement were made possible through funding support from WIOA. This investment represents more than financial assistance—it reflects our commitment to strengthening public safety and supporting those who dedicate their careers to serving our community.

With the help of this funding, each officer was able to complete academy training and overcome the financial barriers that often stand in the way of pursuing a new career. After months of rigorous instruction, hands-on training, and unwavering dedication, all three officers successfully graduated from the police academy at Oakland Community College.

They officially began their full-time careers at the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, stepping into roles where they will protect, serve, and build trust within the communities they call home. Their success is a testament to their hard work and determination, as well as the power of strategic investment in workforce development.
