First Job For Single Mother of 5!

Lapeer – Katti was referred to GSTMW! though DHHS on the PATH program.  A single month of 5, Katti was overwhelmed, unemployed and lacking work experience.  She immediately committed to attending all available workshops and training sessions at the Lapeer Service Center.  With each session, her confidence, skills, and abilities improved.  Taking advantage of the free technology courses, resume services and GPS sessions available at the Service Center allowed Katti to move confidently forward.  Within a few months, she secured her first entry-level job, and she excelled in all ways. While it was only meant to be part-time and temporary, the company felt her work ethic to be exemplary and they created a permanent position for her and increased her hours. Though she was met with roadblocks along the way, GSTMW! was able to assist with an unexpected car repair, work clothes, and mileage while Katti settled into her first job. Katti attributes these benefits and services as key factors in her success! She continues employment at KM International in North Branch and has moved successfully into self-sufficiency.
