GST Michigan Works! is currently on a mission to connect 18–24-year-old job seekers with excellent career opportunities right here in the Thumb! We are actively recruiting young professionals for summer work experience with local employers. This new opportunity is not your typical “Summer Jobs” program. These jobs align the participant’s skills, education, training, and career goals with the needs of local employers.
Participants will gain work experience with training in basic work skills, such as following directions and working with others. The positions and/or projects at employer worksites will provide training in occupational skills that may help them in their career choices.
Employers will benefit by providing subsidized work experience for 90-days, with the opportunity to offer full-time employment if the participant is a fit. However, there is no obligation for the employer to hire.
