$1.7 Million is awarded to area businesses per the Going Pro Talent Fund, as GST Michigan Works! is working to help move Michigan forward

Businesses across the state of Michigan are gearing up for a post-Covid-19 period, thirty-seven area businesses are awarded $1,789,446.00 via the Going PRO Talent Fund.

FLINT, MI. (01/20/2021) – Michigan’s Going PRO Talent Fund (GPTF) provides competitive awards for employer responsive training that enhances talent, productivity, and employment retention while increasing the quality and competitiveness of Michigan’s businesses.

The Going PRO Talent Fund ensures that Michigan’s employers have the talent they need to compete and grow, and individuals have the skills they need for in-demand jobs.  Collaboration between the Michigan Works! Agencies, economic development, and educational partners is
essential to achieving demand-driven training that addresses talent shortages hampering the growth of Michigan’s industries.

GST Michigan Works! facilitated applications for 37 businesses located in Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee, and Tuscola counties. All 37 businesses were awarded funds, with a total of $1,789,446 awarded to assist in funding training to enhance local workforce, increase company capacity, retain talent and acquire new work.
