Interest in CDL Leads to More Substainable Employment

Tuscola - Zachary came into the Tuscola Service Center in October 2021 interested in getting his CDL. He was working part-time at a local farm for a decent wage but struggling to find full-time employment. He was very interested in gaining skills that would lead him to more sustainable employment. With the help of his Career Coach, Zachary was able to attend training at 160 Driving Academy and obtain a Class A CDL. GST Michigan Works! funded his training, mileage reimbursement during training, and his Class A CDL Licensing fee at the Secretary of State.
Shortly after training, Zachary found employment at McFarland Trucking in Caro as a Truck Driver. Not only is he working full-time, but he is also making several dollars more per hour than he was at his part-time farming job. Zachary found sustainable employment just as he had hoped when he came into our Service Center just a few months ago!
