Landing A Fulfilling Career

Before coming to GST Michigan Works!, Chaddwick worked at a local factory where he found little opportunity for growth or advancement. Wanting more for his future and determined to make his late grandmother proud, he turned to GST Michigan Works! for a new direction and a lasting career.

To take full advantage of the resources available, Chaddwick enrolled in both the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) program and the Out-of-School Youth program. Through these programs, Chaddwick received comprehensive support, including funding for training and additional support.

In June, Chaddwick completed his training, and by July, he was hired as a welder at Ultra Aluminum. His hard work, punctuality, and dedication quickly paid off; he earned a $1.50 raise soon after starting.

Today, Chaddwick loves what he does and is proud of how far he’s come. He’s grateful for the support that helped him turn a job into a fulfilling career.
