Sanilac - Ashley reached out to GST MI Works! shortly after her job as a Customer Service Representative at AmeriGas was eliminated. She went from working 40 hours a week to nothing without warning. She enjoyed her career but knew it would be difficult to find something using her previous experience. Due to her lay-off, Ashley qualified for funding to enroll in the Clinical Medical Assistant program at the Sanilac Career Center. After weighing her options, Ashley believed that becoming a Medical Assistant was the best choice for her and her family.

It didn’t take her much time to find employment. Ashley began working as an Admitting Clerk, with the opportunity to train as a Medical Assistant, at Deckerville Hospital before she even began the program. Working full-time, she completed the online Medical Assistant course within six months. She proved to herself and her son that hard work pays off. Being a wife, mom, and working full-time did not stop her from meeting her goals. We are proud to have had the chance to work with Ashley!
