Steve walked into GST Michigan Works! looking for a stable job to support his family. Recently married and a proud new dad to a baby boy, he realized it was time to get serious about his career path. 

To make the most of the resources available, Steven was enrolled in several programs. These programs equipped him with essential job readiness training, resume writing skills, and professional communication techniques necessary for success in the job market.

He decided to focus on CDL-A training at 160 Driving Academy, where he excelled, completed the program, and landed a job the following week. The coaching and job readiness support he received, combined with his determination, were crucial in achieving his goal. GST provided financial aid for his training, rewards for reaching milestones, and assistance with transportation and work attire. 

Steven’s journey is a perfect example of how the right support and perseverance can turn dreams into reality. With his CDL-A license and a bright new career, he can now provide for his family. His story also inspired Youth Solutions, leading to his selection for the 2025 JMG Excellence in Youth Leadership Award!
