GST Michigan Works! Helps Nursing Student With Training Grant

Cassie Miller contacted GST Michigan Works! for a training grant that would assist her with completing her BSN at SVSU. She was under employed and receiving state/federal aid (Pell Grant) which was about to expire.  GST Michigan Works! was able to provide Cassie with a grant to continue her education. 

Cassie was working part-time as an EMT making $10.00/hr. and continued working while she studied and completed an internship.  Cassie received her BSN degree and was hired as a Registered Nurse at Mid-Michigan Health in Alpena. This position is full-time and provides her with benefits as well as a starting wage of $26.66!
