Free Career Training For Adults Working on GED or Diploma.

 

CYBER SECURITY

Tuesday 3-7 pm

Cisco Networking Academy’s Cyber Ops Associate course focused on skills needed to monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to Cybersecurity threats. This course runs for 36 weeks, for a total of 144 hours of training.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MECHANICAL TRADES

Monday – Thursday   2:30 –6:30 p.m.

Students will learn the basics of 4 different mechanical trades: Welding, Plumbing, Electrical, & Construction

 

Students will cover blueprint reading, Osha 10, and math skills associated with these trades.   Students will leave the class with a broad knowledge in these four areas and will cover the MC3 certification curriculum in construction.  This training will be offered twice in the 2020/21 school year.

 

Students interested in these trainings, must be at least 18 years old and should submit an application at the Education and Technology Center.  Candidates for training will be selected by a team consisting of Michigan Works, The Lapeer ISD departments of Career and Tech Ed. and Adult Education.

 

There is limited availability for students with a High school diploma or GED to join the training.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE

Tuesday 4-8 pm

This 16-week training offers an introduction to health care and basic skills needed for employment in a hospital, private-duty setting, hospice, home health agency, or long-term care facility.
