Huron – Cameron came to GST Michigan Works! for help with tuition and supportive services for CNA training scheduled at Great Lakes Medical Training in Caseville. A married father of three, Cameron has been in the National Guard since 2003. While working as an Auto Mechanic, Cameron was called up to assist with the National Guard early in the pandemic. In the National Guard, Cameron was a Clinic Supervisor trained in patient care. When he returned from service, Cameron decided he wanted to pursue a career in the medical field as a civilian, and he qualified for assistance pursing this training due to his military service. GSTMW supported tuition, mileage reimbursement, uniform attire, stethoscope/blood pressure kit, gait belt and was able to assist with a significant car repair. Cameron excelled in the training and completed in early November 2021. By mid-November, Cameron was already employed as a Nurse Aide.  In December, he took the CNA State test and passed with flying colors. He is now a Certified Nurse Aide and is happy to be working in a career that he is passionate about! “GST Michigan Works went way above what I thought possible!”
